Interesting Story: Atlanta Falcons in negociations for a buy-in to Major League Soccer

ATLANTA FALCONS EAGER TO BEGIN MLS FRANCHISE

NFL club Atlanta Falcons have opened talks regarding a possible buy-in to Major League Soccer.
Falcons CEO Rich McKay said in a keynote speech to the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce last week that his franchise were speaking withMLS about bringing soccer to America’s southeast.
“We’re far along in negotiations with them,” McKay said.
“It’s our objective to get an MLS franchise if we can make it happen. We think it would be, not just great for Atlanta and the region, but really it’s the right thing to do for the southeast.”
The Falcons are looking at the possibility of developing a $1.2billion retractable stadium, both for soccer and other events, south of their current home at the Georgia Dome.
