Police are trying to track down the man who shot and killed a former Georgia State University soccer star.

Ayokunle Lumpkin, 23, was killed early Sunday on Milton Avenue in southeast Atlanta.
More than 100 friends and teammates gathered Sunday evening for a rooftop vigil to remember Lumpkin.
"It was just a shock something like this could happen to someone so young," said Tyler Claburn, a friend who attended the vigil.
Claburn said Lumpkin had been at a gathering early Sunday when someone crashed into a friend's car and fled the scene. Lumpkin and a group of friends chased after the man, who apparently was unhappy with being chased down. The man shot Lumpkin and took off in his car.
Officer Kim Jones, an Atlanta police spokeswoman, said officers were called to 270 Milton Avenue at 1:44 a.m. Sunday and found Lumpkin on the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his chest.
Paramedics rushed Lumpkin to Grady Memorial Hospital where he died.
Police located the suspect's car late Sunday but had not made an arrest.
As the investigation continues, Lumpkin's friends and teammates are trying to find comfort in their fond memories of him.
"The way he'd brighten up a room. His smile and the way he made everyone laugh," said Claburn. "He was just trying to do the right thing. It's hard."
