Georgia Soccer is pleased to present five college scholarship opportunities to current high school seniors who will be attending college in the Fall of 2015. Each scholarship is int he amount of $1,000, but each vary slightly with regards to their criteria. Apply now! 

Georgia Soccer Board of Director's Scholarship
TWO $1,000 scholarships available; one male and one female
The Georgia Soccer Board of Director's Scholarship is given by the Georgia Soccer Board of Directors to award and honor high schools seniors who demonstrate excellence on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.

WHO: High School Seniors currently participating in Georgia Soccer (the 2014-2015 year), in any capacity, (i.e. as a player, referee, coach, volunteer, etc.), and plan on attending a four year college or university beginning with the Fall 2015 semester.

CRITERIA: Applicants should have both an exemplary academic and extra-curricular resume.
DEADLINE: All applications must be postmarked no later than April 15, 2015Winners will be notified on or before July 1, 2015.

Rich Freeman Scholarship
TWO $1,000 scholarships available
The Rich Freeman Scholarship is given in memory of former Georgia Soccer staff member Rich Freeman. Rich's title was Senior Member Administrator, but that did not begin to describe what he did for Georgia Soccer. Rich was the technical expert, chaplain, and the one everyone came to the office to see. Rich was never too busy to help, and no job was ever too big or too small for Rich. This scholarship is given in his honor.
WHO: High School Seniors currently participating in Georgia Soccer (the 2014-2015 year), in any capacity, (i.e. as a player, referee, coach, volunteer, etc.), and plan on attending a two or four year college or university beginning with the Fall 2015 semester.
CRITERIA: Applicants should have a minimum 2.5 GPA and a strong record of community service.
DEADLINE: All applications must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2015. Winners will be notified on or before July 1, 2015.

Phil Woosnam Scholarship
ONE $1,000 scholarship available
The Phil Woosnam Scholarship is given in the honor of Phil Woosnam, a founding father of soccer both in the United States and here in Georgia. Phil served as a player and manager for the Atlanta Chiefs, bringing Atlanta its first professional sports championship in 1968 as NASL Champions. Phil went on to become the commissioner of the NASL during their brightest years in the late seventies and early eighties. Phil Woosnam is also an inducted member of the U.S. National Soccer Hall of Fame and the Georgia Soccer Hall of Fame.
WHO: High School Seniors who will be continuing their soccer career at the collegiate level and will be enrolling in a college or university beginning with the Fall 2015 semester.
CRITERIA: Nominees must be continuing their soccer career at the collegiate level.
DEADLINE: All nominations must be submitted online by a club representative by May 1, 2015.
