I don’t know what Wenger was thinking when he squared up against the burly Dutchman.
In a tense North London derby—the last one at Highbury—Spurs took the lead in the 67th minute under controversial circumstances.
Arsenal had players on the ground injured while the ball was in play.
Wenger expected the opponents to knock the ball out of bounds for the players to receive treatment. It just turned out that he miscalculated the sportsman spirit levels of the bitter rivals.
Then Spurs boss Martin Jol gestured to his players to carry on and Robbie Keane ended up slotting the ball home.
Needless to say, an infuriated Arsene Wenger stepped up to the task. Though the fourth official pulled them apart, it wouldn’t take a genius to predict who would have won it had it escalated into a fist fight!

I support Arsene Wegner, because the spirit of sportsmanship says that, when a injure played is hurt of the opponent side, the home side should kick the ball out, so as he can receive treatment, and the same thing is when they get the ball for throw, they just pass it to the other side, but the thing was not same here... But I didn't really expected Arsene Wegner to show aggressiveness to the opponent's manager !!
ReplyDeleteWell, In my opinion - Mangers just want a reason to fight and show their anger, well it's not necessary that you have to stop the play, when a player is injured, it just depends on the players if they want to do it or not. And there is absolutely no reason for Arsene Wegner, to show this stupidity, as like he has the every right to stop the play, and being a fool he just clashed with his opponent's manager, what a shame.. haha

ReplyDeleteReally, Arsene Wegener acted very unprofessional here, he must had requested Martin Jol to stop the play instead of clashing directly towards him. From my perceptive, both are into blame, and Arsene Wegner really has made a blunder mistake and showed his emotional intelligence ;)
