The Atlanta Silverbacks have teamed up with Starbucks Coffee Company and Kids & Pros to launch the You + 2 = Project HOPE campaign, which will serve underprivileged areas in the City of Atlanta on Saturday, April 28.
The project is part of Starbucks’ Global Month of Service, and will be geared towards the renovation of a pair of Atlanta’s Centers of Hope, which are places that provide character development and educational services to youth in the city’s most underprivileged areas. The centers that will be part of the project will be in Anderson Park (120 Anderson Avenue NW, Atlanta, GA 30314)  and Pittman Park (950 Garibaldi St SW
Atlanta, GA 30310).
While volunteers from around the Atlanta area contribute their time to help improve and restore the locations, the Atlanta Silverbacks women’s semi-professional team and men’s professional team will lead a free girls soccer clinic for the volunteers’ children as well as kids from the local neighborhood. The clinic will take place at the Anderson Recreation Center, and the coaches involved will teach team fundamentals and share inspiring stories from their childhood and career.
The Silverbacks players will serve as coaches for the clinic, and will also take time to sign autographs and take photographs with volunteers and participants. Additionally, Kids & Pros, an organization led by former Falcons linebacker Buddy Curry, will be putting on a youth football clinic during the project.
The project will run from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on April 28, and anyone is welcome to participate. To register your child for the clinic, you can download the form here and bring it with you to the clinic. To register in advance online, you can visit the Kids & Pros website here. If you have questions about the event or would like to learn more about how you can volunteer, call 404-969-4900.
