About the Midyear Meeting
The Midyear Meeting and Workshops serves as USASA's national meeting. Every year, representatives from each of the four USASA Regions discuss administrative issues, new programs and ideas, as well as conduct various other businesses during the course of the event. The intent of the Midyear Meeting is to improve soccer programs among adults, as the USASA is the largest Adult Soccer group in the United States.

USASA National Coaching License

The USASA is excited to announce a new initiative to promote our national coaching license to all our state associations.  We're offering $1,000 to the first 20 states or leagues to respond that have yet to run a coaching license of their own. The money can be used to subsidize operational costs of staging the event.
Our 26-hour course is equivalent to the USSF E license and focuses on the modernization of the game while also giving aspiring coaches a great opportunity to learn the elementary principles of coaching.

States or leagues will be responsible for organizing a venue and recruiting candidates, while the USASA Coaching Committee will provide staff and all materials.

Cal South Teams Shine in US Open Cup First Round

Four of Nine USASA Regional Teams Advance

A little over a week after being the last two teams to qualify for the Lamar Hunt Open Cup, both California South teams are heading to the second round thanks to impressive upsets.
Cal FC, managed by Eric Wynalda and Nick Webster, took out the USL Premier Development League champions, Kitsap Pumas, 3-1 behind two goals from Danny Barrera. He gave Cal FC a 1-0 lead going into half and scored another in the 66th minute.

Kitsap posted a comeback opportunity once Matt Friesen scored in the 72nd minute, but the Pumas would lose a player in the 80th minute after Danny Medina was sent off. The victory was the first for Cal South since 2008 when Hollywood United upset the Portland Timbers.

Cal South champions, PSA Elite, were successful in their first round matchup as well. Thanks to two goals from Davis Paul and a strong defensive effort from goalkeeper Trevor Whiddon, the Elite downed Portland Timbers U23s by the score 3-1.
