Rovers O-65 win the Florida Classic Tournament!
Rovers Over 65 won the Florida Classic tournament. One of the most difficult and prestigious tournaments in the South. Congratulations to one of the most successful amateur sides around.
"Winning is always fun. But at our age, it is more than about winning: it is about continuing to play this great game of soccer and enjoying the camaraderie of playing together. " said Bob Gaare spokesman for the team.
Georgia was well represented in the tournament with four other teams. The 55s and 60s both took second place in tough fields of 11 and 10 teams, respectively.
"I was pleased to note that none of you had more than minor knocks, which in itself is a win. I look forward to tournaments" continued Gaare.
If you are wondering who has the trophy, Mike Marcelic has it. He is displaying it at his place of business, Classic Car Restoration in Manchester, GA.
