Georgia United Soccer Alliance (GUSA) is given the opportunity to compete in the United States Soccer Development Academy

Georgia United Soccer Alliance (GUSA) is very excited to announce that our organization has been given the opportunity to compete in the United States Soccer Development Academy (DA) league for the 2011/2012 season. GUSA is an alliance of four metro Atlanta clubs who have joined together to share resources that will allow them to provide a high level, professional training environment and excellent competition at GUSA’s expense for the best players in the state of Georgia. North Atlanta Soccer Association (NASA), Norcross Soccer Academy (NSA), United Futbol Academy (United FA) and AFC Lightning make up GUSA.
“The concept behind GUSA is to bring the best players from the best clubs to play together and represent Atlanta in the DA. There is only one other DA club in Atlanta and we felt that there were enough quality players in the city for another franchise and started kicking around the idea of an alliance two years ago. We felt that with the right structure, we could provide a great training environment and put really competitive teams on the field,” said Dave Smith, NASA Executive Director.
“I am very excited to be offered the opportunity for players from all the clubs to play in the league and feel that it will improve the game and everyone involved. The great thing about GUSA is that we have set it up to be fully funded** so that the best players will be able to play at the highest level regardless of financial ability,” commented Tony Annan, NSA Executive Director.
