Pavlyuchenko to QPR, No to Tevez, Modric and Bale Staying

Another week, another Tottenham Hotspur transfer rumor involving Roman Pavlyuchenko. Pavlyuchenko had previously been linked with both Lokomotiv Moscow and Marseille. It now appears as if the Russian striker could be staying in the country.
Several sources, including the Daily Mail, are reporting that Spurs are willing to ship Pavlyuchenko to QPR this coming January. The stories quote Oleg Artemov, agent for the Tottenham front man, as saying "This is true that Tottenham have turned to QPR. I know about it. The club has a right to do so as they have a contract with Roman. Before talking about it - if Roman wants to be a QPR player or not - we have to consider every detail. Roman hasn't thought about it yet."
Pavlyuchenko has struggled to find playing time with Spurs due to Emmanuel Adebayor, Jermain Defoe and Rafael Van der Vaart playing so well over the past several months. Pav has not been silent about his desire to start for a top flight side leading up to next summer's Euro, even if that means making a move from Tottenham. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp, looking to improve the squad as the club attempts to earn a Champions League spot, will likely only sell Pavlyuchenko and other wantaway players after lining up suitable replacements. With Spurs seemingly just 90+ minutes away from being ousted out of Europa League before the new year, losing Pavlyuchenko would not have too much an affect on the Tottenham lineup.
According to Redknapp, one such replacement will not be Carlos Tevez. Sources have quoted the Tottenham boss as saying that acquiring Tevez is not a "real possibility" for Spurs. Tevez has fallen out of favor at soon-to-be former home Manchester City, and was recently linked to both Tottenham and PSG.
Lastly, Redknapp has again gone out of his way to make it clear that lineup mainstays and stars Luka Modric and Gareth Bale aren't going anywhere. Sources such as Mirror Football have quoted Redknapp as saying "No way on earth will they be for sale - not a chance. I don't think the chairman would accept any offer. We are looking to keep pushing on as we've been on a great run and we are bang in there. There are six teams in my opinion and all are very close to the top. It's a challenge to make the top four and any of them six have a chance of winning it."
After last Sunday's disappointing and controversial defeat at Stoke, Spurs fell to fourth in the league table. They'll soon have a chance to move back up to third, as they host Chelsea on December 22. Tottenham absolutely must hold onto both Bale and Modric if they plan on competing with the other top five clubs in the league. Spurs turned down a £40million bid from Chelsea for Modric last August, and chairman Daniel Levy has since made it clear that he intends on retaining Modric past the current campaign. Barring a complete collapse from the club during their final four matches of December, don't expect any unforeseen drastic moves from SpursBy Zac Wassink
