Two years after his 10-week loan on Merseyside, Donovan agreed to a two-month loan with Everton.

U.S. international and LA Galaxy forward Landon Donovan is headed back to Everton.

Two years after his 10-week loan on Merseyside, Donovan agreed to a two-month loan with Everton. He will be eligible to play in the Toffees' match on Jan. 4 against Bolton, and the loan is set to expire after the club's Feb. 25 match at Liverpool.

“The opportunity to return to Everton and play for such a well-respected club and a manager that I hold in such high regard was something that was simply too good to pass up. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Everton in 2010 and I’m hopeful that we can experience similar success this time around,” Donovan said.

Donovan became a fan-favorite during his spell with Everton in early 2010, scoring two goals in 13 total appearances with the club.Goal.com

"I am delighted that we have managed to get Landon back. He will give us some good experience over January and February," Everton manager David Moyes told the team's official website.

"He did well for us when he was over two years ago and hopefully will return with those same qualities."

Donovan comes off another successful MLS campaign which saw him score 16 goals in all competitions, including the game-winner in his team's 1-0 MLS Cup triumph over Houston last month.

"I think that this opportunity with Everton comes at a perfect time as he is rested and ready to go," said Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena. "We wish Landon and Everton the very best and look forward to Landon returning to the Galaxy on February 26.”
