State Cup new rules and other information

2.8.2012 - New Rules for State Cup Rosters
US Youth Soccer has adopted many new rules for the National Championship beginning in 2012. Many of the changes will significantly change how teams are rostered for each level of the Championship. Specific roster changes, involving the use of Club passes, will be allowed between the State, Regional and National rounds of the tournament.  To view the complete National Championship policy, CLICK HERE.
Georgia Soccer will be holding meetings to review the new rules and explain how they will affect Georgia teams.
  • Wednesday, February 8 – 12 noon at the Georgia Soccer office
  • Tuesday, February 28 – 6:00 pm at the Georgia Soccer offic
2.8.2012 - Applications
Applications will open in Late February.

Beginning in 2012, u13s will play in the Southern Regional Tournament.
This change has been a long time in the making and Georgia Soccer is excited that our u13 State Champions will be able to represent our State in Greensboro in June.
About State CupTournament EligibilityThe State Cup is open to all teams u13 and older, registered and in good standing with Georgia Soccer.
Players and TeamsAll teams and players must be registered with Georgia Soccer. A valid Georgia Soccer roster and player cards for each player, along with an official Tournament Roster, are required to participate.
AwardsIndividual awards for 1st and 2nd place teams in each competitive age division.
Play-in GamesRound-robin groups will consist of 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 16 teams. As a result there may be a number of single elimination play-in games to determine round-robin participants.
Teams that do not advance out of the play-in round will receive a refund of one-half of their entry fee.

Fees and Deadlines All entries due April 10, 2012.
Entry fee - $650.00.
$300.00 additional late entry fee.

On-line Registration:On-line registrations are quick and easy. On-line registrations may be paid by check or credit card. If a team withdraws prior to the close of entries, their entry fee will be refunded minus a $50.00 administrative fee. Once entries close, there will be no refunds of entry fees.
If the tournament is canceled due to weather or Acts of God, approximately one-half of the entry fee will be refunded.
