Thierry Henry, on a loan from the New York Red Bulls, scored for Arsenal

Thierry Henry, on a short-term loan from the New York Red Bulls, scored 10 minutes after coming off the bench for Arsenal in Monday's 1-0 FA Cup win over second division Leeds United.

Henry played for Arsenal from from 1999 to 2007 and his goal on Monday extended his club record goals to 227. The 34-year-old played for Barcelona before joining the Red Bulls after playing for France at the 2010 World Cup.

"I hope it won’t be the last one,” said Henry, who returns to the Red Bulls in late February. "It’s kind of weird, I came back from holiday from Mexico 15 days ago, I never thought I’d perform for Arsenal again or score a winner. The feeling I had when I scored was amazing, I rejoined the club as a fan … scoring a goal when you support a club, now I know what some of the guys that played for Man United, Liverpool or Chelsea felt when they scored for the club they support.”

Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger, who subbed in Henry in the 68th minute, said, "He has seen it all, he has done it all, we knew if we could find him he would be dangerous. He was already a legend and tonight he added a little bit more."
