Event: Fiesta Atlanta: live Hispanic/Latino music with international, national and local recording artists at Centennial Olympic Park

Fiesta AtlantaSince the first Earth Day event was held in 1970 in California with 20 million attendees, that number has increased to more than one billion individuals across 192 countries today -- marking the day as not only a celebration of our planet but as a reminder of our responsibility to protect it for future generations. "It is fitting that at an event such as Fiesta Atlanta, which aims at highlighting the culture and heritage of Latinos, also focus on preserving our planet in order to sustain our legacy," states Ralph E. Herrera, President of Lanza Group, LLC. Working in collaboration with Whitten Management, an Atlanta-based waste management company, which has handled maintenance details from the Dogwood Festival to the Atlanta Motor Speedway, special recycling bins will be placed throughout Centennial Olympic Park. Attendees as well as sponsors and partners will be encouraged to use the recycling boxes and bins.

For the 7(th) consecutive year, Fiesta Atlanta, which will be held on May 5, will commemorate the anniversary of Earth Day by continuing its commitment to greening Atlanta by diverting 50% of the event waste volume by recycling.
"For the past 13 years, our company has worked with many events ranging from sports to music to the arts," explains Bryant Whitten, President of Whitten Management whose company was contracted by the Georgia Department of Cultural Affairs to produce a rolling trash recycling carrier for trash management for parks, recreation centers and government municipal buildings. "We have always prided ourselves in being part of the multicultural offerings Atlanta has while at the same time ensuring that our actions today will benefit the environment and generations to come."
A family-friendly daylong festival, Fiesta Atlanta is free to the public and features live Hispanic/Latino music with international, national and local recording artists at Centennial Olympic Park in the heart of Atlanta. The event also features folkloric dancing, a 5K race, and youth soccer clinics, sponsor displays with free product samples, arts and crafts, and authentic international foods.
A truly multicultural celebration that has something for everyone, last year Fiesta Atlanta was attended by over 40,000 people "In the last seven years, we have seen a shift in the diversity of attendees," explains Lanza. "We now see an increase in non-Hispanics as well as other nationalities enjoying the event"
