The University of West Georgia will play host to half of the Georgia High School Association’s Soccer State Championships this weekend, beginning this evening at University Stadium.

This will mark the first non-football games to be played at Ra-Lin Field, as UWG will serve as the host to the Class AAAA boys and girls state championship games tonight, with Columbus taking on Marist in the girls’ championship match at 5 p.m., followed by the Southeast Whitfield boys battling Dalton in a 7:30 p.m. state title battle.

On Saturday, there will be four games — two each from Class AA and Class AAAAA.

At noon, the Northgate girls will take on Whitewater in the Class AAAAA state championship, which will be followed by the Westminster/Calhoun boys in the Class AA championship at 2:30 p.m., the Westminster/Greater Atlanta Christian girls at 5 p.m. in the other Class AA title match and the days wraps with the Class AAAAA boys’ championship showdown, pitting Houston County against McIntosh.
