Atlanta Influencers Form NASL Soccer Bowl Host Committee

A Host Committee of influential Atlanta area business executives and leaders who share a passion for soccer have joined forces with the North American Soccer League and the Atlanta Silverbacks to benefit NASL Soccer Bowl 2013, which will be played in Atlanta on Saturday, November 9.
Led by Brian Leary, Managing Director of Jacoby Development, the working group is made up of an Executive Committee and a Steering Committee to provide strategic recommendations for the NASL championship game and attract corporate partners throughout Metro Atlanta.  All members of both committees are stakeholders in soccer either locally or within the NASL.
“The Host Committee is a group that believes in the Atlanta soccer scene and they will genuinely convey the appeal for our event to other business leaders and influencers,” said NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson.  “When Brian Leary introduced the individuals at their first meeting, it was evident that they love the game and are a great asset to the NASL Soccer Bowl.”
Leary is a Managing Director with Jacoby Development, an Atlanta-based and national developer of corporate, mixed-use and retail projects.  From 2009 to 2012, he was President & CEO of Atlanta BeltLine, Inc, the organization planning and executing the implementation of the BeltLine, one of the largest, most wide-ranging urban redevelopment projects currently underway in the United States.  Prior to leading the BeltLine team, he oversaw the design and development of Atlantic Station, the largest urban brownfield redevelopment in the nation at the time and its 13.5M square foot master plan for Jacoby Development and AIG Global Real Estate.
The Host Committee’s broad soccer experience and proven success in business is an ideal combination for NASL Soccer Bowl 2013 in Atlanta and includes members whose backgrounds range from playing professionally in Scandinavia to coaching youth soccer for 33 seasons.
“We didn’t meet in a boardroom or in a formal setting, but first met as a group in one of the city’s prominent soccer pubs during a UEFA Champions League game to develop our game plan to make the NASL Soccer Bowl a great success,” explained Leary.  “The power of a great team is infinitely stronger than a collection of individual superstars.  Thankfully, with the leaders who have stepped up, we’re blessed with both.
“We have no less of a goal than to deliver the greatest day in Atlanta soccer history, before kickoff through the final whistle.”
