MACON, Ga. (MERCER RELEASE) – After collecting four points in a pair of league games last weekend, the Mercer women's soccer team continues Atlantic Sun Conference play when it hosts Kennesaw State on October 11 at 7 p.m. at Bear Field.
Mercer (7-5-2, 2-1-1 A-Sun) is 2-0-1 in its last three meetings against Kennesaw State (6-6-0, 3-1-0 A-Sun), who enters play on Friday night two points ahead of the Bears for second-place in the A-Sun Conference standings.
Scouting the Opposition
Kennesaw State was on a four-match winning streak before dropping a 2-1 decision at East Tennessee State last time out on Oct. 6. The Owls return eight starters back from last year's squad that went 10-8-1 overall and lost in the first round of the A-Sun Championship. Offense has been a problem area for Kennesaw State as it ranks tied for eighth in the A-Sun with 12 goals scored thus far in 2013. Freshman goalkeeper Olivia Sturdivant leads the KSU defense by ranking tied for second in the A-Sun with four shutouts and fourth with a 1.25 goals against average.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Mercer women's soccer team piled up 29 shots and 16 corner kicks, but couldn't find the back of the net in a 0-0 tie at USC Upstate on Sunday afternoon at County University Soccer Stadium.
