The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have recalled Colombian defender Cristian Quinones from the Atlanta Silverbacks, pending USSF approval. The team has also loaned Scottish midfielder Grant Kerr to Atlanta for the remainder of the season, pending USSF approval.

We felt it was important to have Cristian back here as a defender to give us cover, said Strikers head coach Daryl Shore. Injuries have left us a little thin at the back, and Cristian is a young defender who did well with us when he was here on trial.

Quiones, 20, had been on loan with the Silverbacks since June 22. He has served as a reserve most of the season thus far, starting in Atlantas 1-0 loss to Carolina on July 30.

Grant Kerr, 25, goes to the Silverbacks after playing in five games this season for the Strikers, starting two.

Grant is a good attacking player, its tough to lose him because he???s been a great guy in the locker room, said Shore. Hes also looking for a chance to go play somewhere, and we feel like sending him to Atlanta will give him a chance to try and help them in their run toward the end of the season.

Quinones, before playing in the NASL, played three seasons for Independiente Sante Fe in the Colombian first division. Before that, Quinones spent time with the reserve teams of first-division Colombian clubs Deportivo Cali and Independiente Medellin in 2006. A year earlier, he was a member of the youth academy at another one of the nations bigger clubs, Once Caldas.
